The Commonwealth Youth Council, in Collaboration with the Government of Ghana and UNICEF Generation Unlimited, hosted an event on the sidelines of the ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York on making the Digital Boom Work for Young People. The side event brought together stakeholders to explore how young people can be unskilled to remain competitive in the wake of AI-driven job disruptions and rising youth unemployment rates.

Speakers at the event included George Opare Addo Esq, Hon. Minister for Youth Development of Ghana, Iliana Albino, Head of Partnerships – UNICEF Generation Unlimited, Hana Sahatqija, Youth Engagement and Entrepreneurship Lead, Generation Unlimited, Shai Naides, Chief of Youth Engagement and Strategy – UNICEF Innocenti, and Osman Ayariga, CEO – National Youth Authority, Ghana. Also in attendance were Bakary Y. Badjie, Hon. Minister for Youth and Sports of Gambia and Moumouni Dialla, President of the Pan African Youth Union (PYU).
