The Director General of UNESCO appointed the Chairperson of the CYC to sit on the Advisory Board for the UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report. The GEM Report was established in 2002 as editorially independent and is hosted and published by UNESCO. At the 2015 World Education Forum, governments entrusted it with the mandate to monitor and report on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly on SDG 4, Quality Education.
In June 2025, the CYC Chairperson joined other members of the Board for the first meeting session of the Board at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.
